Villonia

I've never seen first hand the damage of a tornado. It was devastating. A few nights ago, around 11pm, the tornado sirens started going off on campus and everyone in our dorm had to go into the hallway. It passed by Searcy, but we were watching the news and it hit Villonia really bad. Then this weekend, a bunch of groups went out into the area to help clean up the damage. My group was sent to a field that had debris everywhere. The stretch where the tornado had touched down could be seen clearly: 30-50 yards across was a path of matted down grass. We saw people's belongings and pieces of houses. But that was hardly the worst part... we walked down to where a small neighborhood was. There were 10 or so houses - a road splitting down the middle. On the right side, 5 houses were standing with the windows blown out and the yards kind of roughed up. Then on the left side, there was nothing but the foundation; concrete slabs with rubble piled along the back sides. It was the most horrific thing I've ever seen.

There was something funny though: a Wall-E toy was sitting amongst the rubble and it looked like he belonged there and was doing his job.
